What is Fall?

From Dawn at By Sun and Candlelight...

When does fall begin for you? Well, in Indiana it would be the first day it was cool enough to have the windows open. Here in Texas it will be a few more weeks before we get that day. The one sign of fall I've noticed here is a large number of acorns on the ground.

What is your favorite aspect of fall? Sleeping with the windows open, pumpkins everywhere and the cool, crisp mornings.

What is your favorite fall memory? Our first October/November in Pennsylvania we drove up to the village of Ithaca. Having grown up in Texas, I had never experienced true fall weather until that day. It was simply amazing. The trees were changing, the air was crisp, the shops and homes were decorated with scarecrows and pumpkins.

What do you like to drink in the fall? The same old same old...water and iced tea.

What's your favorite fall food? Pumpkin bread, pecan pies, apples.

What is fall weather like where you live? Warm...but the mornings have begun to cool just a little.

What color is fall? Orange and gold and red.....pumpkins, mums, leaves.

What does fall smell like? Nutmeg and cinnamom

Holiday shopping in fall: yes or no? Yes! I try hard to avoid the crowds so must shop early!

If you could go anywhere in the fall, where would you go? Maine

Do you have a favorite fall chore? Changing out the decorations and the dusting and sprucing up that go along with that.

What is your least favorite thing about fall? It doesn't last long enough.

What is your favorite fall holiday? Thanksgiving Day.

What's your favorite kind of pie? Southern Pecan!

What was your favorite Halloween costume? I must admit I'm not too fond of Halloween costumes.

What was your favorite Halloween candy? Snickers...the only time of year I eat them.

What was your least favorite Halloween candy? Dum Dum suckers

Which do you prefer, the Farm or the Fair? The farm...fewer people.

Do you have a favorite fall book? Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert
