Yesterday at about 6:00 am we hit 32 degrees-that was our high for the day. Then started the rapid plummet of temperatures. Currently, Wednesday about 9:00 pm, we are sitting at  19, which is pretty much where the temp has hovered throughout the day, after single digit lows last night. The last time we had this many consecutive days of sub-freezing temperatures was 1983!  For a little more perspective our normal high this time of year is in the low-50's with lows in the 30's.

As is typical of winter weather in north Texas this storm came in as rain that changed to freezing rain that changed to sleet that changed to snow. Only problem is we only got a light dusting of snow so it's all ice out there (which means there isn't even anything to send the kids out to play in!) . School was cancelled for yesterday and today, and they've already cancelled for tomorrow. Ditto for my husband's office. Friday isn't looking much better with snow forecast for tomorrow night and a predicted high of only 32.  We are all getting a little stir crazy! I think tomorrow we will have to bake some cookies or muffins and maybe work on a Valentine craft. Maybe this one. Or this one. Or this one. It also sounds like a good day to get out the Wobble game. Although I must admit that my inclination is to kick back with a good book and cat curled up on my lap!

yeah, I like the snow so the kids can go out and play in it, ice is another thing though (when I lived in the south we mostly got ice instead of much snow too).
A book with cat curled up in one's lap sounds nice and cozy-especially with a big mug of hot tea.
stay warm!
